In Indianapolis, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Indiana, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Knowledgeable staff. Great variety of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Best selection of hot peppers in the area. Huge selection of tomato plants. Reasonable prices. Worth the trip.

Going to Gary's every year on Mother's day has been a huge tradition in my family. I cannot recommend a greenhouse more! The staff is incredible, the selection is incredible, and it's just an event to go there! Reasonable prices but I will tell you...I always spend more than I intend! Only because I'm just enjoying the experience!

I moved back here from California last spring... My sister in law brought me here, and I fell in love with the place... Great people and customer service, their caring and answer every question with a smile 😊 Warms my heart ❤️ And they have everything you would need for your flower gardens, or pot's, as well as vegetables and more 😊 I've been back twice this month, finding everything I wanted... The best treat was their hybrid Columbines, I love these flowers, and they come back every year... I highly recommend Gary's Greenhouse Inc.
